We were impressed to see our grand mother elephant Noi Nah enjoy walking in the river.

Noi Nah’s first opportunity to walk out of her shelter when all other elephant were back in their own was exhibited by a sprint for freedom. She dashed across the field and occasionally turned back to see who was following..mahouts carrying baskets so she ran on, not knowing that they were full of fruit. She ran for the river and across to climb the far bank, but it was too steep and she settled for the sweet young grass growing by the rivers edge. Twenty minutes later she decided to come back and we made our collective easy passage back to her shelter. She is spry yet.
