Mae Boonma passed away peacefully

In a last few days, Mae Boonma did not walk far into the field but stayed around her enclosure. Yesterday afternoon she fell down just outside the shelter. She was given fluid therapy, but her will to live was a low life ebb. She slept on a sandpile provided to her last night and Bui Loi, her best friend, watched over her all night. This morning at 06.28am Boonma passed away peacefully.
We are so devastated for Bui Loi, who is also fragile and weak at the moment, and to have lost her best friend, is another burden for her. Boonma came from a long history of logging work, and the Karen tribe owner brought her to ENP in 1996 after the government banned logging. She was rescued by the organisation called World Woman Work through the efforts of Singleton Rankin and her friends. Rest in Peace our beautiful old lady. Your new life journey begins in another world. We love you so much and you will always remain in our heart .
