In episode 1 of ENP Podcast, DaDa & P’Ta discuss various aspects of the Elephants around the world, including the important elephant conservation work necessary to save the worldwide dwindling numbers of elephants.

DaDa & P’Ta explain interesting characteristics that can help identify sub-types of elephants, highlight the many ways that humans are causing the global decline and also suggest how elephants are instinctively adjusting their genetics to mitigate their destruction.

Save Elephant Foundation Rescue – Sopa the 82 year old Elephant

In this video, we learn from Kanyakorn Kansumaso, the previous registered owner of Sopa, that Sopha used in the logging trade by a previous owner until she was 76 year old. Khun Kanyakorn speaks about the difficulties she had caring for Sopa, who she employed for 6 years at an Elephant Riding attraction near Pattaya in South East Thailand.

The harmful effects of PM2.5 dust are not limited to humans alone; animals are also gravely affected. This year, the smog has been worse than any other year in recent memory, and the devastating consequences are evident. Kanjana and Fah Mui the two rescued elephants form their beautiful relationship

Kanjana was found trapped in a pit during the fire season. She was just a baby and had fallen into it, breaking her ankle and her legs were badly burned from coals that had collected in the hole. Locals heard her cries and pulled her out. Her family was never found and she eventually became a logging elephant in the Pai area, until the days of trekking began. Her early injuries did not make her a good candidate for either logging or service riding, and we took her away from all of that.
