Grandma SomBoon gets all the help she needs

Over 70% of elephants at Elephant Nature Park are elderly individuals who have been forced to commit their lives to hard work.

In their old age, these elephants face challenges in walking, eating, and sleeping. Many struggle to stand up after lying down, requiring daily assistance from our mahouts. Some mornings, multiple elderly elephants need help getting up, and the process is carried out with utmost gentleness.

SomBoon is among those unable to rise on her own at this moment, necessitating daily assistance.

Our hope is that with proper care and sufficient nourishment, SomBoon will regain strength and eventually be able to stand independently, as others have in her stead.
