Elephant Of The Week : Mae Thai
Mae Thai was born around 1945 and rescued from Surin province to ENP in November 2002. She used to worked in logging, trekking and street begging industries. She is the gran-nanny of Tong Jaan, Fah Mai and Fah Sai. When Mae Thai was in her prime, she was very protective of her role in the family group and did not easily accept new members. She is now 71 years old and feeling her age. She spends most of the time alone, no longer able to keep up with the herd. Anyway, whenever she gets a chance she still enjoys accompany her beloved Tong Jaan. We hope she has a wonderful day all the rest of her life.
