Logging Ban in Myanmar

Dear Elephant lovers.

Today many of you might be excited with the news of the elephant logging ban in Burma or Myanmar. As I have worked and researched about the the elephant living in that land for a long time, I would like to share this with you. Banned logging in Burma today means “For international logging trade only”. The international ban stops other countries from buying wood and logs from Burma BUT the elephants continue to work for logging for the reason of domestic lumber use. But any way it is still good news for the global ban concerning this case. I still have the hope that even better change will come for the elephant in the Golden land, and that their work in logging someday will only be a memory.
