Synopsis: This is a personal story of one small woman’s fight to save one of the planet’s largest animals. Lek has saved hundreds of Asian Elephants from abuse, street begging and hardship over the past 20 years. Working from a remote village in Northern Thailand, she continues her dangerous work despite obstacles and death threats. Running this sanctuary, Lek has devoted her life to saving this animal. As experts predict the Asian Elephant faces extinction within four decades, her work is needed now more than ever.

Elephant Nature Park is also a Dog Sanctuary

Ahh-Da is just one of the many rescued dogs living within the sanctuary of Elephant Nature Park and he has become very friendly with baby elephants PyiMai & Chaba. He is just one of the family as he is also cared for by the mahouts that care for the young elephants.

Namthip is receiving medical attention at Elephant Nature Park

Although NamThip is finally in her new sanctuary home, her health issues are quite pronounced. Our veterinary team promptly conducted further detailed health checks on her, including additional blood tests, stool sampling, and urine checks. Today, we also conducted an X-ray of her left hind leg, which seems to be problematic for her.
