Not so long ago, a mother and child were rescued from Omkoi district, Thailand. Their names are Mho Jae and Sa Ngae. Happiness was restored to Sooksai, and she dotes on the boy with an everlasting affection, fulfilling that enviable role of Nanny with an ardent attention to duty and care.

That's a very easy question to answer in this particular scene. Mho Jae and her baby Sa Ngae's life has dramatically changed after their rescue earlier this year to the sanctuary of Elephant Nature Park and with the loving care and support of their trusted nanny, SookSai, they are able to enjoy being elephants free from the shackles of their past life, living as a happy family.

During a period of quarantine to adapt to their new environment, Mho Jae had the privilege of receiving an unrelenting visitor named SookSai, who sought the esteemed role of being nanny to the little boy, Sa Ngae. This is the first time that all three of them were able to be together outside of the quarantine area and were able to roam freely in a spacious area. Happy now to explore their surroundings, the three are building the bonds of trust and enjoying time well-spent together, especially when rolling in the mud pit during a heavy rain.

FaaMai has long since learned that if she refuses to go back to the shelter at the end of the day, she gets to have new & exciting experiences with other elephants who have come to the river. There is a wonderful story to be seen in this video, showing the start of a relationship between a baby elephant Sa Ngae andan older elephant SookSai. Sa Ngae's mother Mho Jae is constantly in the vicinity and lets her baby play with SookSai. The story to be understood here is that SookSai is presenting herself to be a nanny for the baby and showing that she would like to bond with the family.

Originally from Mae Sariang, born approximately 1965, with Karen hill tribe owners, SookSai has been moved all around Thailand and has passed from owner to owner about 15 times.She began her working life in legal and illegal logging. SookSai eventually ended up in the south of Thailand working as a trekking elephant. In 2011 she lost her footing going up a hill and broke her ankle.
