Could a baby elephant bring her rejected mother into the herd?
Earlier this year, baby elephant LekLek and mother MohLoh were rescued from the Omkoi District of Chiang Mai by Save Elephant Foundation.
On arrival at Elephant Nature Park, they were introduced to FaaMai’s family but three months have passed and acceptance is not complete.
FaaSai and Buathong seem to be rejecting MoLoh for reasons unknown, so that makes for an uneasy alliance.
Moloh keeps some distance from them, although she is fully embraced by DokNgern, DokMai, and TongJan. MohLoh allows her baby to play with them, while she stays close to observe her girl, calling for her when she wants her closer company or to remind the child that it’s time to nurse, and LekLek always comes running
