Thong Ae has a good rub

Thong Ae, the energetic little one, feels particularly playful after her bath. She rubs her skin, kicks a rubber ring around, and then heads over to take a mud bath with Grandma Sri Nuan.

These behaviors are typical of the natural instincts of elephants. They know that a mud bath helps keep their skin moisturized and protects it from the sun and insects. Rubbing themselves against trees and poles helps exfoliate their skin cells and scratch off bugs. No doubt it also feels fantastic!
