Heading to the Land of Smiles anytime soon? If so, you absolutely must make it a point to visit the Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary that takes in abused and mistreated elephants that have suffered years of abuse as street performers. This is hands down the most remarkable thing I have ever experienced. There is a really intangible beauty about being so close to these enormous creatures that have endured so much, yet are so incredibly gentle and vivacious to interact with. Unless you gave birth or have plans to, in which case you shouldn’t be traveling (!), it will be the highlight of your year. I promise.
