Elephant Nature Park

Do you remember SookSai first arrived at Elephant Nature Park ? She appeared with the weakness and unhealthy condition, there are many scars on her body and has a large abscess on her left cheek which may have been from the puncture wound. She had been chained since she broke her ankle 3 years earlier, after trekking with the tourist on her back.

Look at her face and her body now, do you agree with us that we are seeing her smile ? She has gain weight and looks stronger than last month. Thank you to the fundraisers Jack Lanting and Tracey Hand who raised up the money to rescue SookSai and brought her to ENP.

Not so long ago, a mother and child were rescued from Omkoi district, Thailand. Their names are Mho Jae and Sa Ngae. Happiness was restored to Sooksai, and she dotes on the boy with an everlasting affection, fulfilling that enviable role of Nanny with an ardent attention to duty and care.

When she arrived at the park, she embraced her new family immediately. Not only is she the adoptive mother of DokNgern, she is also the aunty of Chang Yim, FaaMai, DokMai, and DokRak. And when Bunma and her baby Chaba first arrived she quickly moved to assist caring for Chaba.

That's a very easy question to answer in this particular scene. Mho Jae and her baby Sa Ngae's life has dramatically changed after their rescue earlier this year to the sanctuary of Elephant Nature Park and with the loving care and support of their trusted nanny, SookSai, they are able to enjoy being elephants free from the shackles of their past life, living as a happy family.

Rescued Elephants MoLoh and LekLek update by our founder Lek

After a recent post about the difficulties of 2 newly rescued elephants settling into Elephant Nature Park, our founder Lek Chailert today made this observation: LekLek and her mother, MoLoh, have been in the Park for some time now. It seemed likely that they would be absorbed beautifully into FaaMai’s family group.
