Chang Yim was born at ENP on July 12, 2009, his name means ‘Smiling Elephant’. His mother is Dok Ngern, he has a lovely sister named Dok Mai and little brother Dok Rak. He is the second baby ever to be born and conceived at Elephant Nature Park from resident elephants. Chang Yim has not had his spirit broken and is trained using positive reinforcement target training so that we can perform any medical or husbandry care necessary. Chang Yim is a very lucky bull elephant as he will never have to do any kind of work.

For now, Chang Yim is living with Thong Suk, another bull elephant that can teach Chang Yim a few things about being a bull. Often times, you can find them both talking to the ladies in Kham La’s family group as they all crowd around the enclosure.

Happy Birthday the handsome young bull!! Today is the day you were brought into this world to be a blessing and to be loved. Wishing you a beautiful day with good health and happiness forever.
