Elephant of the week, Mae Sri Nuan the gentle and feminine elephant
Mae Srinuan, her name is mean gentle and feminine. She used to being forced to work without enough time to eat and she was chained up after work. One evening, she tried to escape to find the food. One man shot her with a slingshot that cause her left eye blind. She could spend the happy time with her baby only for 8 months then the owner sold the baby to the Elephant Show in Phuket. In Noember 2005 ENP team met her at Surin Annual Elephant Festival. Thanks to Antoinette van de Water who bought her as part of her Bring the Elephant Home Project. Srinuan arrive ENP in Jan 2006 and joined her new family immediately. At the park, she is the aunty of Chang Yim and Faa Mai. Even her eye is blind, she still do her best duty to protect the babies and her family.
