I spent two weeks as a volunteer working with Lek. Most
of this time was spent looking after an orphaned baby elephant, however we also found
time to visit her jungle camp, and feed the elephants that live at the
conservation park. I have learnt a lot about elephants from people
who have spent their entire lives working with them, knowledge
which is difficult to come by elsewhere. The food was delicious, the
people we stayed with were very friendly, and the other volunteers were
great people to spend time with. Overall it has been a wonderful
experience, and I have seen a side of Thailand that I would not
otherwise have seen had I not been a volunteer. If you are an Australian
