I just returned from a 6-month journey of discovery around the
world, but I think I can honestly say my week of volunteering at the
Park was the best of all. It was thanks to fantastic people
like Lek and Darrick, staffers like Phom, Jack, Ern (sp?) and Chaz,
and great volunteers like "Passionate Paul" & Barb, Greg &
Therese--all from Australia-- and many others who were all the most
wonderful people I've ever had the honor and pleasure to work with;
and, of course, all the sweet, gentle elephants like big Max, the
babies Hope, Pupia and Jungle Boy, and my personal favorite, lovable
old Medo, the auntie who is determined to enjoy her life at this
wonderful sanctuary. Thanks so much, Lek, for making all this
possible and giving these incredible cousins of ours a much-needed
happy home and future. Bless you all. |
