Myself and my husband went to Chiang Mai for our honeymoon. We had a great day
at the Elephant Nature park and were inspired by the level of commitment the
sanctuary has to each and every elephant. We fell in love with Max, one of the
tallest elephants there who had a heart-breaking story (as many of them did). We assisted the workers in tending to some recent injuries he had, and even
helped suck out puss from some of his wounds using a hand pump for about half an
hour!
The group and guide were great, although we did choose not to be involved in
every activity that was offered, and ended up spending more time with the
elephants physically as a result, which we preferred.
Highly recommended to anyone who wants to lend a helping hand to a great cause. |
