The Great Elephant Escape Book launch
Bring the Elephant Home is pleased to present you
the official book launch of The Great Elephant
Escape written by Antoinette van de Water,
founder of Bring the Elephant Home, and Liesbeth
Sluiter, journalist and photographer with a keen
interest in environmental issues. The book launch
will be held on Monday 23 March 2009 from 7:30 to
10:30 pm at the
Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand,
Penthouse, Maneeya Center, Ploenchit Road (connected
to the BTS Skytrain Chitlom station), Bangkok.
Please arrive between 7:00 and 7:30 pm for
coffee/tea, the registration, exhibition visiting
and to buy the book.
The launch will officially introduce The Great
Elephant Escape which describes the liberation of
two elephants and their journey with Antoinette and
her Thai team to the Elephant Nature Park. It turned
out to be a breathtaking adventure through the world
of flirtatious elephant traders, poor villagers,
well wishing monks, and angry animal rights
advocates towards Elephant Haven on the far horizon.
Furthermore, there will be an open discussion on "How
to get Thai elephants off the streets" by
representatives of various organizations.
Please inform us of your attendance as soon as
possible, by e-mail to Khun Dutsadee at
dutsadee.nilubol@bring-the-elephant-home.org or
at our event at
Facebook. The book launch is free of charge, but
a donation to the organization Bring the Elephant
Home would be appreciated.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase on
the event for a price of 550 Baht. If you are unable
to attend the launch but are interested in
