Faa Sai Settles in with new family - Story Update

This is the first day of Faa Sai at the park and we remove her chains so that she can walk down to the river. She cannot walk properly and the newly unchained feet make her walk so fast. She some times tries to run and her walking is clumsy. Sometimes she kicks her own legs and falls down.

She hesitates to go down to the river and looks very afraid to dip her feet in so we let her walk away. We walk to show her around the park and the area which is her home now. She love the grass and is very hungry  She grabs the grass with her trunk and eats non-stop . We introduce her to the herd family. our existing three babies Thong Jaan, Aura and Pupia are so excited and they come to touch and talk to her. The three babies follow Faa Sai everywhere seeming to ask her lots of questions.

Faa Sai walks to different members of the herd finally stopping at Aura's family. She leans her head lean towards Mae Boong, the mother of Aura, and rests, closing her eyes in a peaceful nap.

A couple of hours later she tries to suckle the milk from Mae Boong and decides to stay with her new mother. Mae Boong takes her to run around the park and she run very fast. She seems delighted. A planet away from her life just a few days ago.

Mae-Perm , Somboon, Mae-Elu , all want to adopt her. She rejects her new human keeper and seeks companionship with the herd. Maybe it is because of the human abuse she suffered. Today she feels safe amongst her own; a new elephant family. It will take time to become a happy elephant again but, so far, the signs are good!
